Laptops versus iPads – an Ongoing Battle

From the time the first ever computer was launched, each and every year, a new product that’s presumably revolutionary is released into the market.

Laptops versus iPads - an Ongoing Battle

From time to time, there is something fresh to look forward to in the technology industry and that product actually gets to transform things in one way or the other. And before the end of the year, we had a new product introduced into the market and it really transformed the way individuals surf the internet both in the workstations and at home. And that product is the iPad.

Once it hit the shelves, the iPad started to sell like hot cake. As a matter of fact, it has already claimed more than three-quarters of the UK market share as regards tablet computers. And the rate at which people are purchasing Apple’s iPad is surprisingly higher than that at which they are buying Dell’s’ laptops. Considering that Dell is a top computer brand, this is quite surprising. And this clearly shows that the computing future is leaning towards tablet computers.

It appears as if everyone prefers iPads, changing laptops in favor of the thin and trendy iPads. When you come to think about it, you cannot really lay the blame on the consumers. This is because they want things that are convenient. With an iPad tablet, you do not require any time to start it. You don’t have to spend time and money replacing batteries. It simply comes with a simple touchscreen and numerous applications that you can easily download fast.

On the other hand, it would be wise to conclude that in this day and age, the laptops have been completely replaced by tablets such as the iPad. However, the fact remains that these tablets are stamping their authority in the market. Consumers are demanding a flexible means of proceeding with their office work when they are on the go and with their iPad, they are able to get all those benefits. Unless you require a big keyboard, there is no other typical feature of the laptop that the iPad users cannot access with their gadgets. As such, it is increasingly becoming hard to think about other benefits that one can derive from the use of the customary laptops because you can check you email inboxes, surf the internet and access all your documents with an tablet PC.

The reduction in the annual sales figures for netbooks is arguably one of the most recognizable signs that tablets are ideally replacing the customary laptops. It is not hard to imagine the reasons why people are turning to tablets such as the iPad. If you are unable to type on the notebooks keyboard and you are forced to lean so as to view the screen clearly, then buying a tablet is certainly the solution for you.

The other thing is that the tablets are developing at a very fast rate and it is possible to access new and amazing apps on a day to day basis.

Apparently laptop manufacturer are slightly concerned about her trend and they are now releasing Ultraboks in order to remain relevant in the market. These are quite similar to a laptop although the feature a slimmer body and are more powerful and a bit more costly.

So why are ultraboks becoming popular within such a short period of time. A good example of such a device is the Macbook Air. This is a device that not only defines an ultrabok well but it obviously shows what rival makers want to do in the coming days.
